I took some steps back to take a distant shot of this disaster with the Vivitar.  Quite a contrast from the winter shots of a few years back, eh? And I really wanted to get out of those weeds. I doubt there could have been quicksand but the mud was really sucking in my shoes. At this point I was circling trying to find a way around those darn weeds to get shots of the back, since I had never seen the back before.

So, sigh....back in the weeds with ye.....aarrrr!

Notice on the right, the lights still stand on the post.  Notice white sky.  At this point, it was starting to get very hot and humid.  Time to leave soon.  July is the worst time of year to do something like this, and going alone probably wasn't such a bright idea either.

A New York subway?  Nope, this is actually entering what might have been the electrical room.  I have no idea if that desk originally came with the building.

Another view.  I guess my yard doesn't look that bad after all.

The talking bush warns me to abandon all ye hope as ye enter.

Natural lighting at it's finest. Yep, she's a real fixer upper said the agent.

Now THIS is cool. I bet these are some of the fuse boxes, correct me if I'm wrong. Probably made in America, and have held up pretty good even though they have been exposed to the weather for several years. Notice the generators below them.

It's hard to see, but I think that rusted thing is another fuse box, which didn't hold up so well.

A closer look. Again, I can't tell if this was a fuse box or what and I somehow doubt there was lights to see what the heck it was. Look at the open window in the background. Pretty spooky, eh?

A better view of the generator in the corner and another fuse box, which still looks new.

More generators I guess, decorated by a merry band of vandals.  Could these be used for anything anymore? Are they worth salvaging I wonder?  This could have been the projection room I guess?  I wonder if the original projector went in the trash?  This is Virginia, so it either got junked or went to a thrift shop or indoor flea market and nobody knew the poor projector so lord knows where it went. I imagine finding it's current whereabouts would be next to impossible.

Another angle, and we could step through the looking glass to what was the concession area.  I said heck no, because remember, before you do anything stupid like this, floors can collapse, especially rotted ones so kids, DON'T try this at home.  Bear in mind too, something had been scraping around in here and this place was really giving me the creeps.

Click on the pic and you will see what's left of I guess part of the concession stand and exercise equipment?  So apparently this drive in pioneered the employee fitness program.

Ya'll don't come back now, ya hear.
