Another treat was the first look at the Fabulous Fantasies' King Of Diamonds retro pinball, to the right of an original King Of Diamonds pin. |
I think the piece of wood on the right was the test playfield for the retro KOD. |
|
Click on the pic for a better look at the retro pinball KOD. Number of players selected and ball in play are on the playfield, and the game is in I think, a Stern cabinet. |
The reels are electromechanical, like the original, and the entire game is controlled by multiprocessors. The numbered card targets in the glass work almost like the original KOD. The game was quite a hit at the show and was played frequently. |
|
To the left, the original King Of Diamonds, fully restored. |
Nearly every King Of Diamonds pin I've ever seen at a show, shopped or unshopped has the worn targets, with a nasty line in the middle of each number. Not the case here. |
|
I bet several hours went into this restoration. Most I've seen are really beat, but still get top dollar. That's when you can find one for sale. |
Tim Arnold was at the show almost the entire time, and so were his fans. |
|
And guys that wanted to buy stuff. |
I think the raffle for this Bowling Queen pin was $5 a ticket. Tim had a new old stock Simpsons Data East t shirt at his booth, and what was I thinking when I didn't buy it...doh!:( |
|
A Williams 1964 San Francisco used playfield for sale at Tim's booth. $25 was the asking price. Not sure if it sold. |
An exhausted Tim at the end of the show. |
