The 10th Anniversary!

I always like Bally and Stern solid states, because you can get them cheap, and once you upgrade the power supply and replace the connectors, with good boards you've got a great game!  One of these days I will score an EM Night Rider and a solid state one.  The solid state one I think has a chime unit, which when you hit the reset button plays that opening jingle like when horses take off at a horse race. I forget what it's called.

This Gottlieb Super Score project needed a little TLC;)

Gumball machines have REALLY dropped in price. I scored one at a thrift shop last December similar to this Victor machine on the right for $21 I think, unrestored. This one is a quarter machine, but mine is a penny machine. The price tag said $45 for mine but obviously was negotiable! I think this one was priced a bit cheaper.

A dead Space Invaders, but with a nice cabinet.  Not sure if it sold.

On the left was a Rowe 80's era juke, which by the way, sound really good. I bought a very heavy box of videogame marquees from this seller as the flea market was ending for the day. I still have many of them, including a rare "Crazy Kong" marquee.

The Heins from The Allentown Pinball Wizards Convention, which takes place the first week of May.  They attend the York Show every year.

Pinball News was at the show to cover the debut at Jimmy Rosen's booth featuring Zizzle's Pirates Of The Caribbean.  I bought mine at Best Buy last December, shortly before Christmas, and paid $250.  My main issue was the absence of backbox and playfield lights. However, some months later, playfield lights were added on future production runs.

The debut of this game was a major media event!  One week later, I was at The Carlisle show, and so was this very same Pirates game, and of course, Pinball News.

The whole place was packed with pins and vids.  There was quite a variety, and for the 10th anniversary York Show, I finally got to see a working Devil's Dare. Not one, but TWO.  This year I hope someone will bring another DD pin and I will take the time to play it!  I still have the Devil's Dare playfield which I bought from Eric at the 2005 York Show, for $10. It hangs proudly in the hallway, and is quite a conversation piece.

My aerial view of the show consisted of me raising the camera high above my head and praying I got something I could use.  This is the first time I was successful.  As you can see, there was quite a variety of pins, featuring a wide variety of electromechanical (EM) and solid state pins.  This is what keeps me coming back to York every year.

Bruce Moyer is not only a pro at classic EM's, but at bingo pins as well.

I didn't know Jeff Lawton had a fan club!
